Five qualify for Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship

Five golfers have secured their place at this year’s Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship through the Eagle Tour qualification event that took place on Monday 6th June at Nailcote Hall.

The event was won by Copt Heath professional Daanyal Spalding (pictured) who shot an impressive round of four under par, while the runner-up spots were taken up by Jason Timmis and former European Tour player Simon Lilly with scores of -3.

Two spots remained and a play-off took place between the four players who finished on two under par: Raymond Russell, Robert Aldred, Luke Towler and Ben Storey. On the ninth hole, Aldred and former Cannes Open champion Russell hit birdies to secure their places in the main event in July, while Towler is first reserve.

The five qualifiers will join at all-star cast of players, led by two-time Major winner Tony Jacklin CBE, who will be in contention for the record €150,000 prize fund, including €50,000 for the overall winner.
