David Moyes has won this year’s final Celeb-Am at the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship in a rain hit day at Nailcote Hall.
David’s score of -2 was enough to take victory ahead of competition from the likes of Scottish actor Craig McGinlay who ended on level par and former Aston Villa footballer Lee Hendrie on +1.
Heavy rain overnight and early this morning meant tee times had to be changed with the celebrities playing nine holes opposed to the usual 18.
But the weather didn’t dampen spirits. A birdie on the 1st got David’s round underway and he was joined out on the course by, Irish boyband stars Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy, Harry Potter actors James and Oliver Phelps, ex-Formula 1 driver turned pundit Johnny Herbert, Ashes winning cricketer Steve Harmison MBE and many more.
Two-time Major winner and event host Tony Jacklin CBE commented: “David put in a great performance today and more than deserved his win. It’s been another fantastic week of golf here at Nailcote and today rounded off another successful event.
“It was great to see Jarmo Sandelin win in the professional tournament yesterday and I’m already looking forward to the 2020 championship.”
There was also a team competition today with team Bidfood coming out on top with a score of -11 overcoming Typhoo Par-tea on -6.
The Celeb-Am concludes what has been a remarkable tournament with preparations already well underway for the 2020 Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship.
Tonight will see an evening dinner take place where celebrities will enjoy some wonderful entertainment and the chance to raise money for charity.
