PROFESSIONAL-AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

The competitors are battling it out for their share of the €150,000 prize fund. Professional players will be competing for the coveted championship title, in addition to the team prize for winning the Pro-Am Partnership.

7th & 8th August 2023

The Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship Pro-Am is a highly competitive, stroke play, 36 hole event which is played over two days. The competitors are battling it out for their share of the €150,000 prize fund. Professional players will be competing for the coveted championship title, in addition to the team prize for winning the Pro-Am Partnership.

One amateur will be joined by one of our invited professionals to compete in the Pro-Am tournament. Upon arrival at Nailcote Hall you will register with our team at the event registration desk situated in the hotel. Following registration you will be able to access the VIP marquee where you will enjoy complimentary breakfast and lunch throughout the day. If you arrive a little earlier than your tee time you can enjoy the tented village and the wide variety of exhibitors ranging from fashion, automotive, professional services and golf equipment.

The Pro-Am consists of three separate tee time groupings to ensure all 60 professionals and their amateurs complete their rounds in a relaxing atmosphere. The tournament organiser will notify you of your tee time in advance of the event, generally a fortnight before the event starts.

You and your professional will head to the first tee where you will be joined by another professional and amateur (please note there are nine holes and everyone plays the course twice to complete 18 holes).

Playing format – 36 hole event. Each team consists of one professional and one amateur with the best nett medal score to count per hole. Maximum handicap for amateurs- 18, half allowance.

Any amateur with a single figure handicap will automatically qualify for the Norma C Herd Silver Salver which recognises the leading amateur in the field.

Whilst your professional will be competing for the €50,000 first prize you will also compete as a team for the Halliwell Cup which is awarded to the winning Pro-Am team.

Upon completing your round you are welcomed back to the VIP marquee to enjoy a complimentary lunch with your professional.

Guests are then escorted by our shuttle service to a nearby hotel to freshen up and get ready for the Players’ Dinner which starts with a Champagne reception at 6.45pm. Our chauffeurs will then be on hand to escort you and your guest back to Nailcote Hall for the Champagne reception.

You are then invited to sit for dinner in the VIP marquee where you will be joined by your professional and all of the other professionals that have taken part that day. Tournament host Tony Jacklin CBE will say a few words at the beginning of the night and you will then enjoy a three course meal, QnA with professionals and fantastic entertainment. (tee times for day two will be made available at the Players’ Dinner and on the tournament website).

Following the conclusion of the evening our shuttle service will be on hand to take you back to the hotel.

Your tee time the following day is determined by how well your professional has performed on day one with the leaders teeing off last. When you are ready to return to Nailcote Hall for your second round you will be escorted by our shuttle service from the hotel to Nailcote Hall. You are once again welcome to enjoy the hospitality of the tented village and the VIP marquee with complimentary lunch.

Following completion of the final 18 holes of the Pro-Am tournament, Tony Jacklin CBE will host the prize giving ceremony with the tournament presentation party where the Farmfoods British Par 3 Champion will be announced. Professional golfers, celebrities, amateurs and their guests will all be invited to attend this wonderful concluding event of the Pro-Am in front of the grandstand on the 9th green.

(please note each amateur is able to bring one guest with them for the Players’ Dinner)
