Celebrities a-plenty at this year’s Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship

The Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship is renowned for being absolutely packed with celebrities and famous faces from the worlds of TV, stage and sport – and this year is no exception.

Teeing off at 8.30am on Tuesday will be a collection of well-known names playing for teams with such monikers as The Social Golfer, Dr Oetker, Farmfoods 1 & 2 and Champions (UK) plc 1 & 2. Among the celebrities will be former Grand National winner Bob Champion MBE, ex No.1 darts player Eric Bristow MBE, former Welsh international footballer Clayton Blackmore, award-winning comedian Dominic Holland and of course, tournament host Tony Jacklin CBE.

At 11.30am Tony ‘Is This The Way To Amarillo’ Christie will tee off along with former F1 Champion Nigel Mansell CBE, football manager Dean Saunders, Strictly Come Dancing’s Len Goodman, TV personality and comedian Roy Walker, Irish comedian and presenter Russel Keilty, and goalkeeping legend Peter Shilton. They will be representing teams such as McCain Foods, Coca-Cola, Premier Foods and Burtons Biscuits.

At 2.30pm current England cricketing sensation Jonny Bairstow and Big Brother winner and DIY expert Craig Phillips will tee off with such major personalities as former football manager and commentator Ron Atkinson, cricket legend Mike Gatting OBE, three times European Senior Tour golfing champion Gary Wolstenholme MBE and badminton Olympic silver medallist Gail Emms MBE.
