Celebrities kick-off week of golfing fun at 2017 Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship

The 2017 British Par 3 Championship gets under way on Tuesday 8th August, with a host of celebrity names set to take to the famed Cromwell Course at Nailcote Hall.

Teams of four, made up of a celebrity name alongside amateur players, will take to the course in ‘shotgun’ starts at 8.30am, 11.30am and 14.30pm, with each team teeing off from a different hole.

Among the names to kick-off the 2017 Championship week, at 8.30 am are, Talksport presenter Georgie Bingham, athletics hero Derek Redmond and former England striker Dean Ashton. Professionals including Miguel Angel Martin, Gary Wolstenholme MBE and Costantino Rocca will also be getting their play under way at the earliest tee time.

At 11.30am, footballing legends Peter Shilton OBE, Andy Cole and John Hartson MBE, will be joined by the likes of England’s 2003 Rugby World Cup winner Mike Tindall MBE, former England cricketer James Taylor and ‘Strictly’ star Len Goodman. Tournament host Tony Jacklin CBE and former Ryder Cup player Peter Baker, are among the pros to tee off.

2.30pm sees the likes of ‘Harry Potter’ actors James and Oliver Phelps teeing off, with Oliver caddying for his twin brother, as well as BBC TV presenters Naga Munchetty and Manish Bhasin. Scotland manager Gordon Strachan OBE, former Aston Villa and Bayern Munich striker Alan McInally and Irish singers Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy, also take to the greens of the Cromwell Course in the afternoon.
