Celebs showcase their golfing skills on day 4 of the Championship

The final day of the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship has already seen some excellent golf being played by the celebrities and amateur players who are treading the Cromwell course today.

Some of the Celeb-Am players have already finished the first 18, including Tommy Fleetwood, who took the title at Nailcote Hall in 2013, and former Aston Villa striker Peter Withe. Both are on +2. Following closely behind are ex Welsh international footballer Clayton Blackmore and former striker for Bayern Munich and Celtic Alan McInally, who are both on +3.

Also with the first 18 under their belts are 1995 Open Championship runner-up Costantino Rocca and Strictly’s Len Goodman, both on +5, while on +4 is Warren Jacklin, son of tournament host Tony Jacklin CBE who is still on the course. Also still going around but leading the field at the time of writing are Kenny Burns, double European Cup winner with Nottingham Forest, on +1 and Strictly favourite James Jordan on +3.

In terms of teams, Team Jacklin finished the first 18 on a staggering -14, followed by Purpose Media (UK) on -10 and Bidvest Food Service on -9, with Sky TV and Farol Fore both on -4.

The celebrity-packed 2.30pm tee-time slot will feature football manager Gordon Strachan OBE, Welsh footballer Daniel Gabbidon, former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie, Sheffield United and Leeds United legend Tony Currie, England rugby hero Neil Back MBE, Westlife’s Brian McFadden, and Soccer AM TV presenter Max Rushden.
