Sunday 13 January saw one of the rising stars of the women’s game, Charley Hull, clinch her second title on the Ladies European Tour, claiming victory in the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open in Abu Dhabi.
Charley went into the final day with a one shot lead over Norwegian star, Marianne Skarpnord and maintained this advantage to win the event with a score of -8.
Discussing the success with BBC Sport, she said: “I've practised really hard over winter and it feels great to win. Hopefully I can get a few more wins. I'm very happy with my round so it shows that my hard work is paying off.”
This victory also kicked off the 2019 season on the Ladies European Tour and Charley will be hoping she can add more wins to her name over the course of the season.
Charley is a regular at the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship competing in the event several times, most recently in 2018. A former winner of the Norma C Herd Silver Salver, Nailcote Hall will always have a special place in Charley’s heart and one of the venue’s bars is even named after her!
