After months of anticipation, the annual Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship returns tomorrow, and what better way to kick-start the four-day event than with some famous faces?
The Celeb-Am – which takes place on Tuesday 7 August and Friday 9 August – adds something extra special to the Championship and while there is no prize money at stake for these celebrities, competition will remain fierce as many of them are certainly no strangers to a golf course.
There are three separate tee-off slots throughout Tuesday’s Celeb-Am, which means three batches of exciting celebrities to look out for on the course. There will be eight teams in each tee-time and each team comprises one celebrity, a team captain, and two professionals to create a completed team of four.
We have put together a summary of just some of the celebs you can expect to see teeing off throughout the day, so you can plan your day at the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship…
8.30am
The day’s play begins bright and early, but there will be no time for tired eyes as ex-West Ham United and England striker Dean Ashton, cricketing star Franklyn Stephenson and former darts champ Keith Deller will all be bidding for the day’s win.
Competing against them are other names including darts hero Colin Lloyd, double Olympian Calum Giles and jockeying legend Bob Champion.
11.30am
Once the morning’s players have completed the course it’ll be time for the likes of tournament host and Ryder Cup legend Tony Jacklin CBE, English Rugby World Cup winner Mike Tindall MBE and former Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman to navigate the Cromwell course.
Competition comes in the form of former Team GB sprinter Derek Redmond, former F1 driver Johnny Herbert, English cricketing royalty Matthew Hoggard, former Villa hero Lee Hendrie, sprinting star Kriss Akabusi and ex-Irish defender Steve Staunton who are all sure to put in a sterling effort out on the greens.
