The Celeb-Am has been in full swing since 8.30am this morning and the first groupings have now completed the full 18 holes. After an impressive round it’s former Manchester United midfielder, Clayton Blackmore, who is leading the day so far.
Finishing his round with a respectable score of +7, he was able to fend off the likes of group competition former Nottingham Forest striker, Nigel Jemson, cricket turned golf star, Franklyn Stephenson, and darts legend, Keith Deller, to clinch his round’s win.
While the celebs are playing for pleasure, not treasure, they are not given an easy ride on the course. A hand full of professionals are thrown into the mix to bring even more competition to the event.
The first grouping were joined on the course by professionals from the likes of 2005 U.S. Open winner, Michael Campbell to American golfer, Larry Laoretti – the former taking the lead for the professionals at +1.
However, with the second group now beginning their first few holes and the 2.30pm tee off grouping left to come out, there is still all to play for, for the remaining celebs.
Will Blackmore see his lead through to the end? Or, will one of the other names on the field pip him to the post?
We will be keeping you in the loop throughout the day, so stay tuned on our news page for all of the latest.
