Five well-known names from the worlds of sport and entertainment have been confirmed for the 2026 Champions (UK) plc British Par 3 Championship.
The historic tournament returns to Nailcote Hall from 11–14 August, bringing together leading professional golfers and celebrity players for its 93rd edition.
The latest names announced are:
Ken Doherty – The Irish snooker legend won the 1997 World Championship after defeating Stephen Hendry at the Crucible and went on to reach two further world finals, achieve a career-high ranking of world number two and become a familiar television commentator and pundit.
John Burton – The actor is best known for his long-running role as Sergeant Daniel Goodfellow in the popular BBC detective drama Father Brown, alongside appearances across British television, film and theatre.
Dean Andrews – The Rotherham-born actor rose to prominence as DS Ray Carling in the acclaimed BBC series Life on Mars and its sequel Ashes to Ashes, before becoming a familiar face to soap audiences as Will Taylor in ITV’s Emmerdale.
Chris Walker – The actor is widely recognised for playing police sergeant Rob Hollins in the BBC daytime drama Doctors from 2009 until its final episode in 2024, a role that earned him two British Soap Awards for Best On-Screen Partnership alongside Jan Pearson.
Peter Withe – The former England international is an Aston Villa legend, having helped the club win the First Division title in 1981 before scoring the only goal against Bayern Munich in the 1982 European Cup final.
The five will join an impressive field of professional and celebrity competitors at one of the longest-running and most distinctive events on the British golfing calendar.
