Jonny Bairstow Swaps his bat for his clubs and joins Team Vimto at The Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship

Fresh from playing his part in England’s thrashing of Pakistan yesterday in the second Test at Old Trafford, cricketing sensation Jonny Bairstow is to tee off at The Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship at 2.30pm.

With his hands barely cooled down from England’s awesome performance, with the team winning by 330 runs to level the series at 1-1, Jonny is the celebrity in the Vimto team and will be playing the course alongside Jon Wynne, Andy Freeman and Ed Jones.

The win by England was the country's second-biggest victory against Pakistan and England's fifth-biggest Test win ever in terms of runs.

Jonny played his part by scoring 58 runs in 86 minutes in the first innings, including seven fours. When he was caught out England were on 589-8 and declared. Jonny didn’t bat in the second innings because England declared on 173-1 but as wicket keeper he caught Pakistan’s Sarfraz Ahmed when he was on just seven.

There will certainly be lots of patting on the back and hand-shaking when Jonny appears at Nailcote Hall and everyone at the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship wishes him equal success in this tournament.
