Past BP3 winners Eddie Pepperell and Tommy Fleetwood shine at the Players Championship

This weekend saw two former winners of the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship continue to shine as Eddie Pepperell and Tommy Fleetwood earned top five finishes in the Players’ Championship.

Eddie and Tommy won the BP3 in 2013 and 2014 respectively and both were in fine form at the event which took place at the Players’ Stadium Course in Florida.

The event was won by Rory McIlroy and saw Eddie come third in the Championship. In what was an incredibly impressive display with a score of 14 under. He continues to make big strides on the PGA Tour and was joined in the top five by Tommy who finished on -13 which was enough to secure fifth place.

These performances came off the back of an already successful month for stars of the BP3. The last year has seen Tommy’s career go from strength to strength, to date he has four wins on the European Tour and he played a pivotal role in Europe’s 2018 Ryder Cup victory.

His 2019 has continued in this vein and as well as his performance at the Players’ Championship, he took part in the prestigious Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Golf Course in Florida. He scored -9 at the event that saw him finish joint third.

Over the years a whole host of European Tour and Ryder Cup stars have participated in the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship and Eddie and Tommy are not the only ones who have seen success around the globe in recent weeks.

Meghan MacLaren is the highest finishing female player in the history of the BP3 and she headed to Australia for the Women’s New South Wales Open title. At Queanbeyan Golf Club she clinched the title for the second time with a three stroke victory. Her total of -12 was enough to overcome Lynn Carlsson and Munchin Keh.

Oliver Wilson is another BP3 star who is making waves on the European Tour. With one tour victory to his name he finished joint second in the Qatar Masters event in Doha scoring -1.

The Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship is set to return this summer, taking place between 6–9 August.
