As well as bringing together some of the biggest names in the world of golf, this year’s Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship will also welcome one of the games’ rising stars in the form of European Tour star Aaron Rai.
Ready to bring his excellent form this year to Nailcote Hall to take on the famous Cromwell Course, both Aaron is sure to make for an interesting watch at this year’s Championship.
Aaron is extremely experienced when it comes to playing at the venue, as Nailcote Hall is one of courses he learned his trade in the sport. Since turning professional in 2012 aged just 17, he has seen huge success in the game particularly on the Challenge Tour. 2017 saw Aaron win three events on the Tour including the Barclays Kenya Open and his fantastic performances saw him awarded a card for the European Tour as a result. This year has seen him continue his good form, recently achieving a top five finish in the BMW International Open and scoring a hole in one at the event. Aaron is just one of the names who has gone on to see huge success since first performing at the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship, and has followed in the footsteps of Charley Hull, Tommy Fleetwood and Eddie Pepperell.
He will be joined by Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour star, Charley Hull, 1991 Masters champion, Ian Woosnam OBE, and event host, Tony Jacklin CBE for the championship. Tony discussed why he was delighted to see Aaron come on board. He said: “Aaron is one of golf’s best young players and we are thrilled to have him on board for this year’s Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship. Aaron has played the course many times during his youth and career and is always a big supporter here at Nailcote Hall. I’m looking forward to seeing them both in action!”
