Charley Hull to play in the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship 2018

One of the biggest names in ladies’ golf, Charley Hull is the latest high-profile professional to be announced for this year’s Farmfoods British Par Championship. The Ladies European Tour and Solheim Cup star is no stranger to the Cromwell Course at Nailcote Hall, having played there as a child. This year, Charley will be taking part in this year’s Professional Championship on 8–9 August with a prize fund of €150,00 on offer, with €50,000 going to the event’s winner.

Charley is one of the rising stars in the women’s game and has already achieved plenty in her career so far. Since turning professional aged just 17 in 2013, Charley has won events on both the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour and looks set to dominate the ladies’ game for years to come.

As well as her individual victories, Charley has also been a member of the prestigious Solheim Cup team on three occasions, representing Europe. Her first appearance in the competition came in 2013, aged just 17 as Europe won the event. As her stock continues to rise in the sport, and the female game has increased in popularity, Charley has become the poster girl of Sky Sports Golf, who will also be covering the Championship this summer.

Nailcote Hall will always have a special place in Charley’s heart as she has participated at the event several times, winning the Norma C Herd Silver Salver for best amateur and one of the venue’s bars is even named after her!

Charley discussed her return to the event saying: “I always love returning to Nailcote Hall as the Cromwell Course is a place that I spent a lot of time learning the sport when I was younger. The Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship has grown significantly since I first played in it and I can’t wait to see who I’ll be playing with this year!”

The Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship welcomes men and women of all ages and golfing ability, making it one of the most inclusive golfing events in the country. Last year’s event saw a whole host of high-profile female golfers take part including Dame Laura Davies, Trish Johnson, Rebecca Artis, Carly Booth and Amy Boulden.

Two-time Major winner and event host Tony Jacklin CBE discussed Charley coming on board for this year’s Championship. He said: “It is great to see Charley returning to the event, she knows exactly what the Cromwell Course is all about having played the event several times before in her youth, and now as one of the world’s best ladies’ players, it will be great to welcome her back.”

Charley joins Tony and 1991 Masters champion, Ian Woosnam OBE, at this year’s Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship, with more professional names set to be announced soon! FREE tickets are on offer at http://britishpar3.com/.

A whole host of sponsors have already come on board for this year’s event. Once again, the event’s title sponsor will be nationwide supermarket chain Farmfoods, with leading brand agency Champions (UK) plc returning as event organisers. Other event partners include Nailcote Hall, Volvik, The Eagle Tour, Sky Sports Golf, Liberty Industries Group, Total Motion, Inspirational Magazine, Finest Catch, Sub70 Golf, Champions Celebrity Talent Agency, VPAR, Champions After Dinner Speakers and Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.
